LinkedIn Ads can report conversions within configured click-through and view-through windows. The chosen window changes which interactions may receive credit, so teams should make the setting visible and avoid equating attributed conversions with incremental results.

Know which interaction can receive credit
A click-through window considers an eligible ad click before a conversion; a view-through window can include an impression without a click. The exact options and interface may change, so verify current account settings before reporting.
A shorter window emphasizes nearer interactions, while a longer one can include more conversions with greater distance from the ad exposure. Neither setting proves that the ad caused the outcome.
Choose a window that matches the decision
Consider buying-cycle length, conversion type, volume, and the lag between exposure and qualified outcome. A form fill and a closed opportunity should not necessarily use the same analytical window.
Keep platform settings stable during comparisons when practical. If the window changes, annotate reports and avoid interpreting the shift as campaign performance alone.
Compare with CRM and experiments
Reconcile attributed results with CRM timestamps, source definitions, and matured opportunity cohorts. The CRM view can explain downstream quality but may not identify every exposure.
Use holdout or other incrementality methods when the decision requires causal evidence. Platform attribution remains useful for optimization diagnostics within its boundaries.
Communicate the limits
Show click and view attribution separately when available and label the active windows. Do not add overlapping platform totals across channels as if they were unique customers.
