Account-based marketing often requires coordinated communication with several people at one organization. Orchestration means aligning useful messages, timing, and sales activity around account progress rather than sending the same campaign to every contact.

Map roles to buying questions
Identify the roles involved in the decision and the questions each needs answered, such as operational fit, security, financial approval, or implementation effort. Use evidence from real buying groups rather than assuming a standard committee.
Keep account and person context distinct. One engaged contact does not mean the full buying group is aligned, and a role may be filled by several people.
Coordinate channels and owners
Build a sequence that assigns each interaction to marketing, sales, or another team. Agree on who owns the account, what triggers outreach, and how teams avoid duplicate or contradictory messages.
Use suppression and preference rules across systems. A new buying signal should not override a person’s opt-out or an active customer issue.
Measure account progress carefully
Track coverage of relevant roles, meaningful engagement, meetings, and opportunity milestones. Do not add contact-level clicks into a single account score without considering duplicate people and channel exposure.
Compare target accounts with a suitable baseline and record the observation window. Account-level attribution is directional when identity resolution or buying-group membership is incomplete.
Use evidence to adjust the plan
Review which roles remain unaddressed and where the account’s next decision is blocked. Shift content or sales support to answer that question rather than increasing touch volume.
